LAPSANG SOUCHONG TEA

Lapsang Souchong tea is a cherished favourite among tea enthusiasts, renowned for its bold, smoky flavour and rich character. Originating from the Fujian Province and traditionally produced in the Wuyi region, this black tea is uniquely dried over pinewood fires, giving it a distinctive aroma and intensity unmatched by other black teas.

Our loose leaf Lapsang Souchong is carefully selected to ensure exceptional quality, satisfying even the most discerning palates. We work closely with local farmers to cultivate, harvest, and process the leaves sustainably and ethically. Each batch is packed in airtight bags to preserve freshness, flavour, and fragrance, delivering a truly authentic tea experience.

Legend traces its creation back to the Qing Dynasty, when farmers, pressed by bandit threats, smoked their tea to protect it—a fortunate accident that produced this iconic smoked black tea. Today, its robust, aromatic taste continues to captivate tea lovers worldwide, from casual drinkers to connoisseurs.

How to Brew Lapsang Souchong Loose Tea

Crafting the perfect cup of Lapsang Souchong is both simple and rewarding, delivering a bold, smoky flavour with excellent balance.
Measure the Tea: Use one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup. For a stronger brew, add an extra half teaspoon.
Boil Fresh Water: Use fresh, cold water and bring it to a rolling boil at around 100°C (212°F).
Preheat the Teapot: Pour some hot water into your teapot, swirl it around to warm the vessel, then discard the water before adding the tea.
Add the Leaves: Place the Lapsang Souchong leaves into the preheated teapot.
Pour Boiling Water: Cover the leaves fully with the hot water to ensure optimal flavour extraction.
Steep: Let the tea infuse for 3–5 minutes, adjusting the time for a stronger or lighter taste.
Strain and Serve: Pour the tea through a strainer into your cup, removing the leaves, and enjoy the robust, smoky aroma.
