ROOIBOS
Experience the exceptional quality and rich flavour of our Rooibos Loose Leaf Tea, sourced from South Africa’s renowned Cederberg Mountains. Naturally caffeine-free, this vibrant red infusion offers a smooth, slightly sweet, and nutty taste, making it a soothing choice for any time of day. Carefully selected for purity and freshness, it retains its powerful antioxidants and essential minerals, supporting overall well-being.
With a heritage spanning over 300 years, Rooibos—also known as red bush tea—was first used by the Khoisan people for its natural healing properties. Grown in sandy, acidic soil under unique climatic conditions, the leaves are harvested, oxidised, and sun-dried to develop their distinctive colour and flavour.
Rooibos tea promotes heart health, aids digestion, may help manage blood sugar, and supports skin health. It is naturally low in tannins (4.4%), which enhances iron absorption compared to black tea.
Perfect served hot or iced, this versatile tea offers a harmonious balance of taste and wellness, making it a refined addition to any tea collection.
How to Brew Rooibos Tea Leaves
Preparing rooibos tea properly helps bring out its full flavour and natural benefits. Follow these simple steps for a consistently perfect cup:
Measure the Tea: Use one teaspoon of rooibos leaves per cup of water. You can adjust the quantity depending on how strong or mild you prefer your tea.
Boil the Water: Heat fresh, filtered water until it reaches a rolling boil. Rooibos requires higher temperatures than delicate teas like green or white varieties.
Steep the Tea: Pour the boiling water over the leaves in a teapot or infuser. Allow it to steep for 5–7 minutes. Since rooibos does not turn bitter, you can leave it longer if you prefer a richer taste.
Strain and Enjoy: Strain the tea into your cup once brewed. It can be enjoyed as is, or enhanced with milk or sweeteners, though its naturally sweet flavour is often best appreciated on its own.
